Launchpad is pleased to announce our current creative educational offerings, which include both in-person and virtual learning opportunities in; music industry, dance, photography and visual art, with more offerings being added as we develop the program. This slate of courses, workshops and Open Studio sessions will run year round in fall, spring and summer groupings.
Creative Ed courses are designed for various skill levels looking to realize their full creative potential or for the average person looking to take a low risk, high reward plunge into the arts.
“I think it’s very important for these types of opportunities to be provided for anyone in our communities who wish to dive into creative learning. Making arts and music education accessible to people in Bangor and beyond with virtual options and financial support helps make that a reality.”
Meg Shorette, Executive Director of Launchpad
Offerings this semester include in-person Figure Drawing sessions with a live model, Still Life Drawing sessions featuring unique props and displays courtesy of The Rock & Art Shop and dance classes in various styles, Music Industry Workshop; a crash course from some of the best in the Maine music industry including guest instructors Spose, Sasha Alcott of When Particles Collide and Rachel Doe of Maine based agency Crossover Touring.
At the forefront of this project is Sadie Webb, Coordinator of Creative Development with Launchpad. “I’m so proud and excited for our new launch for Creative Ed. As an emerging artist myself, this is the type of program I wish had been available to me. Filling that gap is another huge step in the right direction towards keeping arts engaging and accessible in greater Bangor and across the state. This is going to be crucial for those wanting opportunities to turn their passion into a pivotal moment for launching their career, and for community members looking to try something new.
