Alive & Local 2: Call For Artists

Launchpad is seeking artist submissions for our 2nd annual Alive & Local collaborative exhibit opening at the Bangor Arts Exchange in October as part of the City of Bangor’s annual ARTober celebration. Alive & Local features a juried group of talented emerging artists all creating in the Bangor region.

Fine art in any media may be submitted, including hand pulled prints, photography and sculpture. All works should be no less than 2 years old since creation. If you are unsure, please email our contact above for clarification. Jewelry and clothing are not eligible for this exhibit. Sculptors must provide pedestals/shelving. Mounted ceiling installations are eligible.

Submission period: Opens – Tuesday, August 1 / Closes Friday, August 25
Exhibition on View: Friday, October 6 – Sunday, October 29. Free to public.
Opening Artist Reception: Saturday, October 7 from 7PM-10PM
Where: The Gallery at the Bangor Arts Exchange – Downtown Bangor, Maine
Limitations: No art may be shipped. All accepted artists must be present to install in person on October 4 or 5.

To Submit:
1. Email with email subject: Alive & Local II Submission

2. Include (please limit to this info):
• Name
• Age
• City/Town of Residence
• Art Medium
• Artist Statement
• Notes (relevant to submission)
• Number of works you would ideally present (if accepted).

3. Attach only 3 sample images of works with sizes (please note framed or not).

All artists may price art to sell. Launchpad/Bangor Arts Exchange takes a 15% commission on all works.

We stand strongly behind our belief that galleries should be uncensored, all ages and rotate frequently to provide emerging artists with the opportunity to find as many new audiences for their work as possible.
